These designs were inspired by the Basella alba or Ceylon Spinach that I photographed a few weeks back. I collected the seeds, crushed them and used a Chinese ink brush to make these drawings.
Wow good idea to use the seeds to draw, I have a niece that is like you who loves to draw. She is always alone with the maid cause both parents work. Once she use coffee to paint...hahaha and it comes out very nice and smell good too and she was only in primary school. Now she is in University studying medicine and her ambition is to be a homemaker..lol.
It all started with the photo in the first post - that of the slender trunk of a young palm in the Singapore Botanical Gardens. Looking at the photos taken I was somehow inspired to make a drawing in a light-hearted kind of manner and from there I discovered that I really enjoy doing this kind of drawing - quick, easy and creative. A new blog is born. Welcome!
